April 2018 Masters Message
My time as Master of Dothan 466 is drawing to a close. It’s been a challenging year, but easily one of the most rewarding ever. I have some thoughts to leave you with.
We live in a fallen and fractured world. We see it all around us.
We as a people are more divided and isolated as we have ever been.
The thing I notice is just how isolated I was before Masonry. By this I mean I went to work. I knew my coworkers. I came home. But outside work I knew few people.
The lack of human interaction outside of my own home was appalling. I’m willing to bet that your experience is similar.
Masonry helps fix that. After joining a Masonic lodge, things change. I now know hundreds of people, and they know me. People I’ve come to admire and respect. I know my neighbors and they know me. You too can rid yourself of the lack of purpose. Masonry fills a gap that is desperately needed in the world, and in our own lives. It unites men of every sect in brotherhood uniting us to each other and to God and the world around us. If you see the same emptiness in your life, and you need more, Masonry is a doorway and easily one of the best things I’ve ever done. It can help you too, and in doing so help fix the world we all live in.
Seek the light. Ask a Mason about joining or visit the lodge on the 1st and third Tuesday nights of the month. 6:30 PM. Ask for me. The door is there. Walk through it. It’ll be one of the best decisions you ever make.
If you’re not a Mason, then ask one how to become one. You’ll be glad you did. 2B1-Ask1
